SEC Applications Filed by Grayscale, VanEck, and Other Companies for Ether ETFs

Several major asset managers, including Grayscale and VanEck, have submitted applications to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch Ethereum (ETH) futures exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for U.S. customers. The filings outline applications from Grayscale, VanEck, Bitwise, Volatility Shares, ProShares, and Round Hill Capital. Grayscale’s filing includes two applications: one for a proposed Grayscale Global Bitcoin Composite ETF and another for a Grayscale Ethereum Futures ETF. Volatility Shares also plans to list an Ether futures ETF, while VanEck’s filing indicates its investment strategy will focus on ETH futures contracts. ProShares, on the other hand, outlined its Short Ether Strategy ETF, which aims to profit from losses in the S&P CME Ether Futures index. These applications follow recent filings from mainstream asset management firms looking to launch Bitcoin ETFs.
