Leila Ismailova embarked on her professional journey at the age of 15 as a broadcasting star in Belarus. After spending 10 years in the role, she felt she had reached a “professional ceiling” and began exploring Web3. She reminisces about her audacity as a child, sneaking into buildings to handwrite stories and submit them to editors. Despite facing hardships, including the death of her father during the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Ismailova found success in her career and launched a charity for mentoring orphans. She later co-founded Artisant, a digital fashion brand, before transitioning to a consultant role for digital-savvy fashion brands. Ismailova’s move to the United States opened up opportunities for her family members as well. She is now a Web3 veteran and sees digital fashion and technology as potential solutions to the overconsumption and environmental issues in the fashion industry. Ismailova recently left Artisant and is focusing on consulting and writing, while also enjoying a balanced life outside of crypto with hobbies like chess, sports, and dance.
