More than 25,000 students in El Salvador have been introduced to Bitcoin through educational programs. The initiative, led by members of the Bitcoin Beach community, aims to provide early-age education on Bitcoin, money, and the economy to underprivileged children. The students are taught to set up Bitcoin wallets, make transactions, and understand the benefits of the cryptocurrency. The programs emphasize the importance of financial literacy, as these subjects are not typically taught in schools. By equipping students with Bitcoin knowledge and other life skills, they can potentially access better employment opportunities in the future. The efforts to educate students about Bitcoin are part of a larger movement in El Salvador to promote financial inclusion, as around 70% of the population is currently unbanked. The government’s decision to make Bitcoin legal tender in the country has kickstarted various Bitcoin-related programs.
